The Mothers of Improvisation Book Description

Murderers who have eluded legal punishment begin to die unexpectedly and no one can figure out why.

The Mothers of Improvisation, follows the ravaged life of Tara Eriksson as she endures the memory of her murdered husband, a few years earlier, and now the murder of her only child, Kate, a bright teen and the center of her life. To make Tara’s anguish more unbearable, she suffers with the knowledge that the killers of her family have gone unpunished and will never receive the justice due for their heinous crimes.

Tara is no ordinary grieving wife and mother and devises a secret organization to punish murderers who have escaped the law. She begins by estimating the size of the group affected by tragedies like hers and later interviews them to determine their willingness to join her budding movement. Ninety percent of these vetted women volunteer for special training and soon will be tasked with exacting the overdue justice these free-roving killers have avoided. Their acts will never be connected to a motive, and they will never face legal retribution. The untouchable Mothers of Improvisation sisterhood is born. Soon unpunished capital criminals, nationwide, begin to feel the blade of Lady Justice’s broad sword and even the most powerful organized crime families start to take notice of their diminishing numbers.

Tara takes on deadly assignments herself and demonstrates her fortitude, but eventually the robes of judgment begin to weigh heavily on her conscience and she longs to withdraw from what she has begun, even though the movement will go on without her.
